A 4-day-course open to everyone

Adding live and relive surgeries, technical videos, debates, mini-battles, interactive challenges and workshops, this event has a 360 degrees approach to shoulder pathology, management and rehabilitation. Moreover by practicing, preselected by each participant, modern, cutting-edge techniques on cadaver specimens, the educational experience  is completed.




This 4-day course includes lectures by experienced shoulder surgeons on all current concepts and controversies related to both open and arthroscopic shoulder surgery, live surgeries, ultrasound workshops for shoulder evaluation and practice of modern cutting-edge techniques on cadaveric specimens. By the end of this course, surgeons will be able to:

Understand all current rotator cuff repair techniques for partial, full thickness and massive tears
Comprehend all current irreparable tears treatment options (growth factors, spacers, graft augmentation, tendon transfers)
Understand all current shoulder instability treatment techniques including all current complex instability treatment alternatives like labral repairs, tendon transfers, bone grafts and coracoid transfer procedures
Comprehend athletes’ shoulder injuries and pathology including acromio-clavicular dislocations
Understand current controversies and apply current concepts to shoulder arthroplasty
Familiarize themselves with the outcomes and postoperative complications following anatomic and reverse shoulder arthroplasty surgeries and develop strategies for revising failed shoulder arthroplasties
Apply innovative shoulder disorders evaluation and management methods
Assimilate the principles of ultrasound shoulder evaluation

CME-CPD CREDITS
The 4th ATHENS SHOULDER COURSE, Athens, Greece, 05/02/2020-08/02/2020 has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 28 European CME credits (ECMEC®s). Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity. Through an agreement between the Union Européenne des Médecins Spécialistes and the American Medical Association, physicians may convert EACCME® credits to an equivalent number of AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.
